Rowdies Continue Homestand With Rochester

The Basics:
FC Tampa Bay Rowdies (5-6-5, 5th in USL Conference) vs. Rochester Rhinos (7-4-6, 2nd in USL Conference)

Thursday, July 22nd, 7:30 p.m., George M. Steinbrenner Field

It will be another Thirsty Thursday, with $1 beers from when the gates open at 6 p.m. until kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

This is the first meeting between the teams this season.

Broadcast Info:
The match will be carried live on www.fctampabay.com and can be heard on 1010 Sports with Mike Pepper handling play-by-play and Winston DuBose providing color commentary.

What’s at Stake:
After opening a four-match homestand with a draw against the Puerto Rico Islanders last week, the Rowdies will look to gain three critical points in the playoff race.  Just past the midway point of the season, FC Tampa Bay is sitting tied for seventh place overall, safely in the playoff picture by just one point.

About Rochester:
The Rhinos are the only team yet to line up against the Rowdies.  Rochester is currently in second in the USL Conference, eight points behind the league-leading Austin Aztex.  The Rhinos are 2-2-3 in road matches this season, having picked up early season road wins over NSC Minnesota and Austin Aztex.  The Rhinos are winless in their last three road games, losing at Vancouver, and drawing with Montreal and Crystal Palace Baltimore.

Individual Notes:
Two goalkeepers have split Rochester’s 17 games nearly even this season.  Scott Joseph Vallow has played nine games, while Neal Kitson has played in eight, including each of the last four.

Midfielder Jeremy Christie may return to the Rowdies’ lineup this week after missing the last two games due to a groin and head injury.

Rhinos defenders Troy Roberts and Frankie Sanfilippo have both played all 1530 minutes of Rochester’s 17 games this season.

Noteworthy Stat:
While the Rowdies as a team haven’t played the Rhinos this season, the newest Rowdie has.  Newly acquired Jonathan Steele has played against Rochester as a member of the Vancouver Whitecaps, making two appearances against the Rhinos earlier this season.

Ralph's Mob
Ralph's Mob will be hosting another after party at the Green Iguana located at 2520 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, just south of the stadium. When you get there tell them you are with the Rowdies/Ralph's Mob group.

We are also asking that fans show their Rowdies pride and wear yellow & green to the game!

The Rowdies should extend Thirsty Thursday to include soda and lemonade ... for the kids and non-alcoholic adults.
