FC Tampa Bay Rowdies end Coastal Cup in 3-3 draw with Miami FC

The final matchup in the Coastal Cup ended in a 3-3 draw for FC Tampa Bay Rowdies and Miami FC. The Rowdies won the series with one win and three ties and took home the Cup.

Miami FC was the first on the board with a goal by newly acquired forward Chukwudi Chijindu.  Miami midfielder Paulo Araujo Jr. crossed it to Chijindu who shot and scored from six yards out in the 19th minute.

The Rowdies fought back and found the back of the net through a beautiful shot from a few yards by Maykel Galindo in the 33rd minute.  Miami came back off a referee interference when the ball being cleared by Rob Valentino hit the referee and found the feet of Danilo Martins who shot and scored in the 42nd minute.

Tampa then came back to tie it up again in the 45th minute when Maykel Galindo took the ball into the box. The ball bounced off the back of midfielder Gerson Mayen to Aaron King who headed it into the net and leveled the Rowdies 2-2 at the end of the first half.

During the second half, Miami fought hard with several shots on goal but the Rowdies were the first to score again. Tampa's leading goal scorer King added yet another goal to his record after a pass from Jonny Steele found him inside the box. King worked around the defenders and moved it past Caleb Patterson to give the Rowdies the lead.

Martin Nunez evened the score out in the 82nd minute with a shot on a empty net after Sattler left his post to challenge Nunez.

The Rowdies saw the return of forward Aaron Wheeler in this match. Wheeler has been out due to a stressed reaction to his right shin which happened in the match against Puerto Rico on May 29th.
